Pune: Family members must remain in funeral for those who die from Corona, administration will give PPE kit

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has said that the bodies of Covid-19 victims who died at home should be handed over to their families and the civic bodies will help them in the process. Officials have said that ward officers from each locality will provide body bags and four PPE kits to relatives. It is necessary to wear their kit while packing the body in the bag.

 

They are also required to upload a medical certificate specifying the cause of death along with their insurance form for duties related to Covid on the PMC website. The Aadhaar card of the deceased person and relatives is also required to be submitted in the process.

 

Pune recorded the highest jump in cases coming in a single day yesterday. The city had 8,553 new infections and 31 deaths. The city contributed about 21 percent of all cases in Maharashtra and 11.82 percent in India's figures.

 

Maharashtra was the most affected state in the country, with 39,544 new cases reported here on Wednesday evening. India on Thursday recorded 72,330 new cases of Covid-19. This is the largest figure to come one day after October 11 last year.

 

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday that eight states in the country are registering an increase in daily corona cases. 8 states of the country are responsible for 84.61% of the cases reported in the last 24 hours. These eight states are Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Punjab, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
