Although the booking of Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and Sri Leela's mega-budget film 'Pushpa 2' seems to be reaching above Rs 30 crore due to corporate booking and block seats, in reality only Rs 20 crore worth of tickets have been sold so far. The craze for the film is seen in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Here the film has earned as much in booking of just three thousand shows, which the film has not been able to earn even in booking of four times its shows in Hindi. The film does not seem to be getting any attention in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
Only three days are left for the release of this year's most talked about film 'Pushpa the Rule' i.e. 'Pushpa Part 2'. There is a lot of buzz about the booking of the film, but most of its earnings seem to be coming from its original version i.e. Telugu. Booking for 2983 shows of the film in Telugu is going on, out of which the booking of its 2D version is about Rs 10.87 crore, the IMAX 2D version is about Rs 21.39 lakh and the 3D version is about Rs 8.70 lakh. According to these figures till Monday afternoon, tickets worth about Rs 11.17 crore have been sold in the booking of the Telugu version of the film so far.
The film 'Pushpa 2', made on a budget of more than Rs 400 crore, will have to take an opening of at least Rs 80 crore at the domestic box office in all language versions to take the first step towards becoming a hit. The film will have to earn at least Rs 800 crore at the domestic box office to get the title of a hit. The budget of 'Pushpa One' was only Rs 150 crore and it earned about Rs 350 crore at the domestic box office. The film's earnings in Hindi alone reached Rs 100 crore. This time the booking of the Hindi version of the film is looking good.
According to the figures till Monday afternoon, the Hindi version of the film has sold tickets worth about Rs 7.69 crore in 2D, Rs 2.56 crore in IMAX 2D, and Rs 28.83 lakh in 3D in booking. This advance booking of about Rs 10.54 crore for the Hindi version has been done by selling tickets for 11605 shows and this is where the real problem of the film's earnings is going to be stuck. The rates of the film's tickets may have increased in Andhra and Telangana, but the cinemas in the Hindi belt have not increased their ticket rates much. On Thursday, tickets are being sold between two hundred and six hundred rupees only. The tickets of premier cinemas are only up to three thousand rupees, but their seats are limited and their sale does not have much impact on the collection of any film.
The most surprising figures in the advance booking of the film 'Pushpa 2' are of the Malayalam version of the film. Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil is playing the main villain in the film but the dubbed version of the film has managed to collect only Rs 51.81 lakh in advance booking till Monday afternoon. The condition of the Tamil version is even worse, which has sold tickets worth only Rs 31.93 lakh in advance booking. The film in Kannada language is struggling to recover even the money from its dubbing and distribution. The booking of the Kannada version of the film 'Pushpa 2' has been only Rs 88 thousand till Monday afternoon.
