In the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, Shillong police have also arrested contractor Lokendra Tomar. Sonam was staying in Lokendra's building in Hirabagh, originally a resident of Gwalior. She had hidden a pistol and a bag full of cash worth Rs 5 lakh in it.

Earlier, the police had arrested broker Silom James and watchman Balveer Ahirwar. According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Silom James, a resident of Mahalakshminagar (MR-3), had leased a building in Hirabagh Colony from Lokendra Tomar. Sonam and Raj were staying in a flat (G-1) in the same building.

Before going to Ghazipur, Sonam had hidden her bag and clothes in the flat. Lokendra and Silom took out the bag and set it on fire. A bag is still being searched in which a country-made pistol and Rs 5 lakh cash were kept.

Silom claims that Lokendra has taken out the goods. He had the keys to the flat. He vacated the flat on June 10 and got the watchman Balveer to mop the floor. As soon as Silom's name came up, Lokendra switched off his mobile and absconded.

When the SIT took out the information from his wife's mobile, it was found that he was hiding in KK Plaza flat number-105 Gandhinagar (Gwalior). Information was shared with Gwalior Cyber Cell through Crime Branch and Lokendra was taken into custody on Monday afternoon.

Originally a resident of Sagartala, Lokendra's father is a retired army man. Lokendra is the project director of Deltap Infrastructure Private Limited. According to SP Dharamveer Singh, Dharamveer Singh has arrested Lokendra and handed him over to Shillong Police. Transit remand will be sought after presenting him in court on Tuesday.

Contractor got trapped due to chatting and call recording

Lokendra had taken out the goods cleanly. He first opened the room with another key and searched the bags. After taking out the valuables, he called Silom. He told him that I had seen the bags. Remove them from here. Otherwise, my building will be sealed.

When Silom showed reluctance, he said that he would not give the advance amount of Rs. 3 lakh. Silom's mobile has chatting and calls recordings of this. After this, Silom along with the watchman Balveer kept the bags in the car. He went to a deserted place with his wife and threw the laptop.

After this, he set the bag on fire in an empty plot. Police found burnt remains, but did not find the pistol and notes. Police will now question both of them face-to-face on Tuesday.

Lokendra had also tried to get the footage of the car showroom deleted. He had told Silom that fingerprints were imprinted on the bag. Burn it or else we will get caught.
