Adelaide, March 20 (IANS) Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood on Friday said bowling out Pakistan for a paltry 213 laid the foundation for his team's comfortable six-wicket victory in their World Cup quarter-final match here at the Adelaide Oval.
Hazlewood was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his superb bowling performance, claiming 4/35 of his ten overs to wreck the Pakistan batting who were bowled out in 49. overs. Australia chased down the target in 33.5 overs.
"Keeping them to 213 was perfect for us and the boys did a good job with the bat," Hazlewood said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
The New South Wales (NSW)-born pacer, who was dropped from the side in their last group game against Scotland, said it was great to be back donning the national shirt and added he was happy with the result.
"It's great to be back in the side. I've been bowling well all week and it was good to put it into the game. It's quite a long tournament and you can come in and out of form. So I was quite happy to get a game today and quite happy with the result."
"We're firing on all aspects, it's been a good tournament and we're going well," added the 24-year-old.
