Some schools in Delhi have received bomb threats this morning. Schools in South Delhi and North West Delhi have received bomb threats. Indian Public School in South Delhi and a school in Saraswati Vihar in North West Delhi have received threats. It was further said that after receiving the information, police, fire brigade, and bomb disposal squad were sent to the school. The school premises have been evacuated and an investigation is going on. This information has been given by Delhi Police.
40 schools have received bomb threats simultaneously
For information, let us tell you that on December 9, more than 40 schools in Delhi also received bomb threats. The special thing is that this time the sender of the mail had demanded 30 thousand dollars in exchange for stopping the bomb blast. Earlier also, unknown people had sent threatening emails to spread panic in many schools. This time more than 40 schools including British School, Salwan School, Modern School, Cambridge School, DPS School, and GD Goenka had received this threat.
Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had visited the school to know the situation of chaos and had sought a report from Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora. However, Delhi Police called these emails fake. Delhi Police has got some clues in the initial investigation. It is being told that the emails have been sent from an IP address in Russia. Police are tracking the IP addresses of all these email addresses.
Threats have been received earlier too.
This time threatening emails have come to schools after more than a month. Earlier, many CRPF schools across the country, including two schools in Delhi and one in Hyderabad, had received bomb threats through e-mail. A CRPF school in Tamil Nadu was the first to receive the threat on the night of October 21. After this, an alert was sent to all the affiliated schools in the country.
There was an explosion here.
On October 20, a powerful explosion took place in the wall of a CRPF school in the Rohini area of Delhi. This damaged nearby shops and vehicles. A hole was also created in the wall of the building.
Mails are being sent with a similar pattern.
Police officials say that the pattern of all the threatening emails is the same. Due to this, during the initial investigation, it was found that the IP addresses used to send the emails were from Russia. It is also suspected that an attempt can be made to hide the IP address through a VPN. Usually, such emails are sent using a VPN connection, so that the real IP address can be hidden.
The dark web can also be used.
Police sources also say that the dark web can also be used to send threatening emails. All units of Delhi Police's Special Cell and Crime Branch teams, including the country's security agencies, are investigating this matter from all angles. Mails related to such rumors were also sent to some hospitals on 29 April. Now on such threatening emails sent on a large scale to schools, the Home Ministry also says that such emails are being sent to spread rumours.
