No liquor sale exemption in Maharashtra
The central government has exempted liquor sales with conditions in the third phase of the lockdown that began on May 4. In many places people are not taking care of social distancing. In such a situation, the police have to close shops.
Supreme Court said- consider home delivery of alcohol
On Friday, the Supreme Court, hearing a petition, said that state governments should consider home delivery of liquor to maintain social distancing. The petitioner argued that the sale of liquor in the lockdown should not endanger the life of the common man. The Ministry of Home Affairs should give clarification to the states on the sale of liquor. The Supreme Court did not give any clear order on this petition, but advised the states for home delivery of liquor.
