Sonam Raghuvanshi, who murdered her husband Raja Raghuvanshi on their honeymoon and threw his body in a ditch, has confessed her crime before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Sonam has confirmed that she killed Raja through Raj. The SIT produced the five accused in a local court in Shillong on Wednesday and took them on an eight-day police remand.
The SIT said that the accused had to be taken to Indore, Bihar, Guwahati, and Ghazipur. SP (Shillong) Vivek Sim said that Sonam has been brought to Shillong from Ghazipur and Raj Kushwah (Kachwah), Vishal alias Vicky, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi have been brought to Shillong from Indore. On Wednesday morning, the SIT interrogated the five accused by making them sit face to face.
Sonam, who was misleading till Tuesday night, told the entire sequence of events as soon as Raj was revealed. After this, the police took the five accused to the ADJ court. This incident is being discussed a lot in Shillong. Local citizens want to see the accused. Hundreds of people gathered in Shillong's Sadar police station and court premises.
Black commandos had to be deployed to control the situation.
The SIT told the court that mobiles, SIM cards, phones, jewelry, and cash are yet to be recovered from the accused. All the accused will have to be taken to Indore, Bihar, Ghazipur for the said material. The weapon (Daw) used in Raja's murder was bought from Guwahati. The accused will also be taken to Guwahati for smuggling.
Two guides and a scooter driver identified the police station.
The SIT also got the guides Albert PD and Bhavan Sai identified at the police station on Wednesday evening. Albert said that he had seen the three accused, Sonam and Raja. Bhavan Sai also confirmed taking them. After this, the accused called two people who rented scooters. One accepted giving the scooter to Raja and the other to the accused.
Sonam's brother Govind met Raja's mother.
On Wednesday, Sonam's brother Govind reached Raja Raghuvanshi's house in Sahakar Nagar. Govind directly hugged Raja's mother Uma and cried profusely. Govind said I am saddened by Raja's death. I have no regrets over Sonam's arrest.
He said, if Sonam is guilty, she should be punished. On Raj and Sonam's love affair, he said, I had no idea about this. He always called her 'didi'. For three years, he was getting Rakhi tied by Sonam. Sonam tied the Rakhi while sitting next to me.
He also said this family has lost a son. This loss can never be compensated. I apologized to them. Raja was my dear one. He said that Sonam is a big liar. When I met her in Ghazipur (UP), she said that these people killed Raja. They also beat me up. They knocked me down unconscious and fled. I told her that Raj and Vishal had been caught. Now tell me the truth.
But Sonam kept lying. I understood that she was guilty. She is misleading all of us. Raja clarified about Jitendra Raghuvanshi and said, he is my aunt's son. He works in my firm. The account is in his name and Sonam used to operate it. Govind also apologized to the Meghalaya government. He also said that Sonam was very happy with the relationship with Raja. Why she did this is beyond understanding.
If children are not given values, they become 'Sonam': Vijayvargiya
Teach children, but also give them values, without values, children become 'Sonam'. Sonam has tarnished our Indore. Wherever we go, people start asking about this incident. We feel ashamed to talk about it. If children have values, such incidents will not happen. Mothers and sisters, eat one less roti but give value to children.
Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said this in a program organized in Indore Assembly constituency one. He said that if a child is given education but is not given values, they become animals. They live a bestial life. Kankeshwari Devi had said in her sermon that if a woman does not have shame and affection then such a woman is like Putana. They committed the crime under the influence of drugs and are now repenting.
