After Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, former MP Mimi Chakraborty, former cricketer Suresh Raina, and Yuvraj Singh, now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now summoned actor Sonu Sood for questioning in the money laundering case related to an illegal betting app. Sonu Sood has come under the scanner of the ED regarding an illegal online betting app.

When and why was Sonu Sood called?

ED has ordered Sonu Sood to appear at its headquarters in Delhi on September 24. The agency believes that he had a promotional association with an online platform that is banned in India. This app is allegedly involved in illegal online betting and money laundering. The investigating agency is investigating to what extent this app benefited from the branding of celebrities and players and whether the payment rules related to it were violated.

Scope of ED investigation

The Enforcement Directorate has been monitoring such betting websites running on the Internet for a long time, which are against the law of India. Not only does betting take place through these platforms, but activities like hawala and money laundering are also suspected. Now that the names of film stars and sportspersons are coming to the fore in these cases, the scope of the investigation has increased even more.

Urvashi Rautela has also been called.

According to the information, Mimi Chakraborty has been ordered to appear on September 15, and Urvashi Rautela on September 16. The investigating agency wants to understand the extent to which these stars have played a role in the promotion and publicity of these apps.
