India has set a target of building its space station by 2035. For this, a new Rocket Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV) is also being made. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has also proposed to work with the private sector for the development of this reusable rocket.
ISRO Chairman S Somnath said that at present work is being done on the design of the rocket, it will be completed in about 1 year. It will be issued to industries for production. He said that the intention was to involve private industries in the process of its development as it would not require the government to invest all the money. Industries also have to invest. The first launch from the rocket could happen in 2030.
Somnath said that the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), ISRO's war-horse rocket, is based on the technology of the 1980s. He said that after the construction of the space station, India's strength in this area will increase further.
India growing in space
In a report titled Evolution of the Environment for the Space World in India, the agency ISPA-E&Y estimated that the Indian space economy of $9,600 million in 2020 will grow to $1,280 million by 2025.
4600 million in satellite services and usage, 400 million in groundworks, 320 million in satellite manufacturing, and $100 million in launches are expected to be generated annually by 2025.
India was serving $600 million in launch services in 2020, which is projected to grow at a rate of 13 percent annually till 2025.
NGLV rocket science
Capacity: The NGLV rocket will be simple and strong, and can be made in large numbers, which will reduce the cost of sending space missions. Through this, equipment weighing 10 tonnes will be able to be transported to the Geostationary Transfer Orbit at 35,786 km above sea level. It is estimated that it will cost $1,900 for every kilometer to deliver the device into space and $ 3000 in wide format.
design and fuel
NGLV will be a three-stage rocket. In this, green fuel can be used in the form of liquid oxygen along with methane or kerosene.
Goal: This rocket will prove useful in building India's space station by 2035.
