Panic gripped the national capital Delhi on Monday morning when nine prominent schools in different parts of the city received bomb threats. The threatening calls were received between approximately 8:30 and 9:00 AM, prompting school administrations and security agencies to immediately go on high alert.
Upon receiving the information, the concerned schools promptly informed the Delhi Police. Police, fire brigade, and bomb disposal teams rushed to the scene and began a thorough search of the school premises.
Taking the threats seriously, several schools evacuated students from their classrooms to safe locations. Some schools declared a holiday, and parents were immediately notified.
Preliminary investigations have not yet yielded any suspicious objects or explosives from any of the school premises. However, the police are not taking the threats lightly and are investigating the matter from all angles.
According to the Delhi Police, efforts are underway to trace the source of the threatening calls and the location of the caller. The cyber unit and technical teams have also been involved in the investigation.
It is worth noting that similar hoax bomb threats have been received by schools and government buildings in Delhi and other major cities in the past, with the apparent motive of spreading panic. The Delhi Police has appealed to parents and the general public not to pay attention to rumors, and has stated that the situation at all affected schools is completely under control.
