Amid protests in Sri Lanka, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed 17 new ministers. Dinesh Gunawardene has been made Minister of Home, Duglas Devendra has been made Minister of Fisheries, and Nasir Ahmed has been made Minister of Environment. Most of the new faces are in the cabinet. At the same time, the protesters are continuously demonstrating outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan demanding the resignation of the Rajapaksa family.

 

The opposition raised questions about the decision

The opposition has questioned the decision of Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Opposition leaders said that when the President is indulging in corruption, then what can the public expect from the new cabinet? Opposition leaders said the president would have to resign from his post.

From Germany to Melbourne, Sri Lankans are protesting. Gotabaya Rajapaksa had convened an all-party meeting recently for reconciliation, but this meeting ended after the uproar.

 

Old ministers blew bugle against the Rajapaksa family

 

After the formation of the new cabinet, the old ministers sounded the bugle against the Rajapaksa family. Former minister Johnson Fernando said that the people are against the Rajapaksa family, but we have been removed. This decision is unconstitutional. He said that what kind of decision is this, in which it has been decided not to make senior leaders ministers.

 

Protest continues on Gela Hill

 

Here, people's demonstration continues at Gella Hill (President's House). People are raising the demand to oust President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa from power. There are tents on the streets. There is a continuous protest with flags and posters in their hands.
