Sri Lanka, which is facing the biggest economic crisis to date, has also had to face the sky disaster. The Disaster Management Center (DMC) of Sri Lanka said that more than 600 families have been affected by landslides and floods due to heavy rains in the country on Sunday.
According to the DMC, a total of 2,290 people belonging to 585 families have been affected in the southern district of Ratnapura, while 16 families have faced hardship in the Kalutara district of Western Province. Many houses have suffered heavy damage due to floods and landslides.

The Sri Lankan police have arrested more than 200 suspects in connection with the May 9 violence. A police media spokesperson said 230 people have been arrested. Around 707 cases of damage to vehicles and property were registered in this case.
LTTE threatens Sri Lanka again
The threat of an attack by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is looming large in Sri Lanka. Recently, Indian intelligence agencies have given inputs to the Defense Ministry of Sri Lanka regarding this. According to Indian input, LTTE can carry out some major incidents on 18 May.
Sri Lanka has also tightened its security after receiving intelligence inputs from India. Sri Lanka says that it will also investigate this matter.
