Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra Pawar, is all set to become the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. She arrived in Mumbai early Saturday morning with her son, Parth, for this purpose. Sunetra Pawar will take the oath of office as Deputy Chief Minister this evening (January 31) at 5 PM.

NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare met with Sunetra Pawar before the legislative party meeting. Sunetra Pawar will be sworn in as Maharashtra's first female Deputy Chief Minister at 5 PM.

A meeting of the NCP legislative party will be held at 2 PM at the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. 40 NCP MLAs will attend this meeting, where Sunetra Pawar will be officially elected as the leader. Following this, she will be sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra at 5 PM.

Sunetra Pawar's swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Lok Bhavan (or Raj Bhavan premises) in Mumbai. Before the swearing-in, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made it clear that the Maharashtra government and the Mahayuti alliance fully support the NCP's decision.

The meeting begins at Sharad Pawar's residence

It is noteworthy that the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) was previously discussing a merger of the two factions. However, these discussions seem to have come to a halt after the announcement of Sunetra Pawar's appointment as Deputy Chief Minister.

A crucial meeting of party leaders has begun at NCP chief Sharad Pawar's residence, Govind Bagh, in Baramati. MP Supriya Sule, MLAs Rohit Pawar, Yogendra Pawar, and Sandeep Kshirsagar are present at the meeting. Discussions on the party's future strategy are expected to take place.

No problems in the family

When Sharad Pawar was asked whether he, as a family member, was consulted about making Sunetra Pawar the Deputy Chief Minister, Sharad Pawar said, "If there is any crisis in the family, the family remains united. There are no problems in the family."
