Captain Babar Azam asked Pakistan team doctor Najeeb Somru to tell about Rizwan's condition. According to Somru, "Rizwan developed a chest infection on November 9, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Where he was in the ICU for two nights. Somru said that the team management kept the information about Rizwan's health a secret so that the morale of the team does not fall, as the team was winning all the matches in the tournament by performing brilliantly.
