Villapuram (Tamil Nadu), March 26 (IANS) AIADMK and DMK give false promises and they have to be taught a lesson in the general election, DMDK leader A. Vijaykant said Wednesday.
Addressing an election rally here around 160 km from Chennai, the actor-turned-politician said: "The AIADMK and DMK give only false promises to the people of Tamil Nadu. My only aim is to chase out AIADMK and DMK."
He said the AIADMK government headed by J.Jayalalithaa has been saying that power shortage would be shortly solved, but till now the situation has not improved.
The DMDK is part of the six party alliance led by BJP in Tamil Nadu.
He said there are sugarcane fields and sugar factories in Villupuram but the cane farmers are not paid for their supplies.
"The sugarcane tastes sweet but the farmer's life is bitter. I am in politics to work and not to earn," he said.
Coming down heavily on Jayalalithaa for dashing off letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vijaykant said: "Instead of writing letters to the prime minister why (doesn't)she go and meet him at least once."
