This was the third match of Group C, in which Afghanistan defeated debutant Uganda by 125 runs. Batting first in this match, the Afghan team scored 183 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz played an innings of 76 runs in 45 balls for the Afghan team. Apart from him, Ibrahim Zadran scored 70 runs. In response, the Ugandan team was all out for 58 runs. Fazalhaq Farooqi destroyed the batting order of Uganda by taking five wickets for the Afghan team.

The captain of the Ugandan team won the toss and decided to bowl first against the Afghanistan team. His decision was proved wrong when Afghanistan's opening pair Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran made a 150-run partnership for the first wicket. The Gurbaz-Ibrahim pair performed brilliantly and based on their stormy innings, Afghanistan scored 183 runs in 20 overs.
In response, the Ugandan team had a bad start. Ronak Patel and Simon both got out on personal scores of 4-4. Fazalhaq Farooqui took five wickets for the Afghanistan team and destroyed the batting order of Uganda. Naveen Ul Haq and Rashid Khan got two wickets each. In such a situation, while chasing 184 runs, the Ugandan team collapsed at 58 runs.
