On 22 April 2025, there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in which about 26 people were killed. According to reports, the terrorists killed the victims after asking about their religion. This incident shook the whole country.
The silence of many Bollywood celebrities also raised questions, one of which is Aamir Khan. The actor neither said anything directly about Pahalgam nor about Operation Sindoor. However, now he has given his first reaction to this.
Described the terrorist attack as cowardly
Aamir Khan has described the terrorist attack as cruel and cowardly in a recent interview. In an interview with a news channel, the actor said, "The terrorist attack was cruel. It only shows the cowardice of the terrorists that they entered our country and opened fire on common people. You or I could also have been there. They asked about their religion and then opened fire. What does this mean?"
Clarified his silence
The PK actor further explained why he did not react to this earlier. According to the actor, "I am not on social media. People react immediately to these incidents. This was an attack not only on our country but also on our unity. They have already received a befitting reply from our country."
Aamir does not consider terrorists as Muslims.
Aamir Khan further said that he had canceled the trailer of Sitare Zameen Par due to this terrorist attack. He had also canceled the premiere of Andaz Apna Apna. Further, he said about being killed after asking about religion, "No religion asks you to kill people. I do not consider these terrorists as Muslims because it is written in Islam that you cannot kill any innocent person, and cannot attack any woman or child. By doing what they are doing, they are going against the religion."
Aamir Khan also said that the terrorist attack had left a deep impact on him. He was so sad that he did not even step out of the house for many days. He said that he expresses his patriotism through his films.
