PM Modi's Highest Honour: Cyprus' highest honour to PM Modi, till now more than 20 countries have honoured him

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Cyprus' highest honour. Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides conferred Cyprus' highest honour, the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III, on Prime Minister Modi. The Order of Makarios III is a knighthood honour conferred by Cyprus, which was named after Cyprus' first President Archbishop Makarios III.

 

Prime Minister Modi said, 'Mr. President, I express my heartfelt gratitude to you, the Government of Cyprus, and the people of Cyprus for the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III honour. This is not just an honour for Narendra Modi but for 140 crore Indians. This is an honour for their abilities and aspirations. This is an honour for our culture, brotherhood, and the ideology of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. I dedicate this to the friendly relations between India and Cyprus, our shared values ​​, and mutual understanding. I accept this honour with great humility and gratitude on behalf of all Indians. This award is a symbol of our unwavering commitment to peace, security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and our people.'

 

Earlier in March, Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam honored PM Modi with his highest civilian award 'The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean'. This honor was given to Prime Minister Modi for his contribution to strengthening relations between India and Mauritius. Modi is the first Indian to receive this honor. This was the 21st international award given to Prime Minister Modi by another country. After this, in April, the Sri Lankan government honored Prime Minister Modi with the 'Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushan Samman'. The Sri Lankan government gives this honor to the heads of state of countries that have good relations with Sri Lanka.

 

Kuwait honored him in December last year.

Kuwait honored Prime Minister Modi with the highest civilian honor in December last year. Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah honored Prime Minister Modi with 'The Order of Mubarak Al Kabir'.

 

These countries honored him in November last year.

 

In November 2024, Prime Minister Modi was honoured with the highest civilian honours by Guyana and Barbados. Guyana honoured PM Modi with the highest national honour - The Order of Excellence, while in Barbados, PM Modi was awarded the prestigious Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados. Dominica also gave him the highest honour recently.

 

Which countries have honoured PM Modi?

 

For his leadership at the regional and global level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honoured with the highest national awards of more than 20 countries since 2014, including the United Nations' highest environmental award.

 

Has also been honored by Afghanistan and Palestine

 

PM Modi was awarded the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan by Afghanistan in 2016, the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine by Palestine in February 2018, UN Champion of the Earth Award by the United Nations in October 2018. At the same time, he was honored with the Order of Zayed by the UAE in April 2019 and the Order of St. Andrew Award by Russia in April 2019. Apart from this, PM Modi was honored with the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin by Maldives in June 2019, King Hamad Order of the Renaissance by Bahrain in August 2019, Legion of Merit by America in December 2020, Order of the Dragon King by Bhutan in December 2021 and Order of Fiji by Fiji and Order of Logohu by Papua New Guinea in May this year.

 

Egypt also gave the highest state honor to the PM.

 

At the same time, in June 2023, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi honored Prime Minister Modi with the 'Order of the Nile' award. This is Egypt's highest state honor. He was awarded the Companion of the Order of Logohu by Papua New Guinea in May 2023, the Companion of the Order of Fiji in May 2023, Abakal Award by the Republic of Palau in May 2023.

 

France and Russia have also left no stone unturned in giving awards.

 

In July 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Legion of Honor by France. This is France's highest honor. PM Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this honor. Prime Minister Modi was awarded Russia's highest honor 'The order of St. Andrew the Apostle'.
