These days an audio tape has brought an earthquake in the politics of Pakistan. If this tape is to be believed then it is absolutely clear that three years ago Imran Khan came to power only because of the army, he had no charisma in it nor did he get so many votes that his party Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) could have formed the government.
At the moment, only a very small part of this tape or say a few seconds has been revealed, but it is expected that soon the full tape will also come out. In this tape, former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar is talking to an unknown person. In the conversation, Nisar admits that he was under pressure to punish former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz so that Imran Khan could be brought to power.
understand the matter first
A few days ago an audiotape surfaced. In this, CJP is telling his problem to some unnamed person. They say that the judiciary in Pakistan is not independent, it is under pressure from the army. The tapes are from a few days before the 2018 Federal Elections (like our Lok Sabha elections here). Then Imran was holding rallies in Islamabad by climbing containers. Nawaz was facing charges of corruption, theft, and defaming the army.
Later, Nawaz was sentenced to 10 years while daughter Maryam was sentenced to 8 years in the Panama Papers leak and other cases. He was sent to jail. Later Nawaz went to London for treatment and has not returned yet. Mary appealed against the sentence. The matter is pending.
What's in the leaked tapes?
Only a very small portion of the tape has been exposed. Pakistan's famous YouTuber and Journalist Alia Shah said in her show 'Breaking Barriers with Alia' - Don't make the mistake of thinking of it as a short tape. In the coming days, this tape will come out completely and there will be an earthquake in the politics of Pakistan. Till now, those who declare themselves clean (the army and ISI) will also be exposed in front of the country. Here that part of the conversation is being presented, due to which Imran and the army have lost their sleep and people have started believing that Nawaz Sharif was framed by both of them.
Justice Nisar to the front - I want to say very clearly that unfortunately, we have such Idars (departments and here means powerful army) who issue decrees to judges. Now they are saying that Mian Sahab (Nawaz Sharif) has to be punished because we have to bring Khan Sahab (Imran Khan). The person in front says - Nawaz Sharif should be punished fine, but the daughter should not be punished. On this, Justice Nisar says – Yes, this will raise questions on the judiciary as well.
The tape is perfect, who leaked it?
The name of the person who brought this tape to the fore, is-Ahmed Noorani. He is an investigative journalist. Noorani works so meticulously that his report should not be questioned. For example, before releasing this tape, he got it forensic examination in the US, so that later no one can allege that this tape is forged.
The special thing is that after the tape surfaced, Justice Nisar himself admitted that the voice in the tape was his own. However, in the clarification, it was said that some old pieces have been added to it. On the other hand, in a conversation with 'The Dawn' newspaper, the American Forensic Company also made it clear on Tuesday that this tape is completely original and no tampering has been done with it.
Elected or selected
The entire opposition of Pakistan has been calling Imran 'Selected Prime Minister' for three years. Maryam Nawaz, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari call Imran the selected Wazir-e-Azam from every public platform. This means that people and other politicians know the reality of Imran, but are afraid to take the name of the army directly. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and ISI take advantage of this. However, the coming days do not look good in terms of Imran's political health. The victory of the army seems certain.
