A BJP functionary raised a question on social media about the way actor Shahrukh Khan, who had come to pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar on the occasion of her last rites, raised a question on social media.
On Sunday evening, before the funeral of Lata Mangeshkar at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, many personalities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, went and prayed near the body.
Shahrukh reached there with his secretary Pooja Dadlani. While Shahrukh's hands were raised for prayers, Pooja Dadlani was paying tribute to Lata Ji with folded hands.
At the end of the prayer, Shahrukh Khan bowed down and removed the mask, and blew it towards the body. A comment made regarding this sparked a debate on Twitter.
BJP Haryana's IT cell in-charge Arun Yadav's tweet further fueled the controversy. Sharing the video of Shahrukh Khan paying tribute, he wrote – "Has he spit?"
People started trolling Shahrukh by giving the name of his breath. However, another section is also praising him and Pooja Dadlani's picture as the real picture of India.
Many well-known faces also jumped into this controversy and criticized Shahrukh's criticism.
Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted- "Some people are neither worthy of prayer, nor mercy, they only need medicine, to end the poison of the mind."
Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinetra has also tweeted in favor of Shahrukh and surrounded the people who questioned him.
Supriya has written- "You are not only a person of closed mind but a very evil person who is also using prayers for a departed soul to spread hatred. Everyone thinks, can we let wickedness win."
Supriya tweeted the picture of Shahrukh reciting prayers and wrote - "My country."
Chandra Kumar Bose, the grandson of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's brother, Sarat Chandra Bose, has commented on Shahrukh Khan's prayer.
Chandra Kumar Bose, who contested against Mamata Banerjee on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the West Bengal assembly elections in 2016, wrote - "Shahrukh Khan praying at the funeral of Lata Mangeshkar. This is the real culture and heritage of India. Some religious The madmen can't digest it."
At the same time, senior journalist Siddharth Varadarajan, founder of the well-known news portal Wire, has written - "This disgusting tweet is from a BJP official. There is no doubt that who are the people in the society who are spreading dirt and poison. If Arun Yadav is ignorant of Dua, so could have always asked someone before making a claim."
Senior journalist Om Thanvi has said about this that Twitter should take action on such posts.
He wrote- "Surprised why @Twitter people turn a blind eye to such poisonous campaigns deliberately launched? Is it because such spit-licking tweets get publicity, fuel controversy? This is for running the channel. It has become like hoarding of abusers."
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit has also taken a dig at those criticizing Shahrukh.
Ashok Pandit writes - "The few people who are accusing Shahrukh Khan of spitting during Lata Mangeshkar ji's funeral should be ashamed. They prayed and prayed for the protection of his body and his next journey. Blown away. There is no place for such communal waste in our country."
Radio jockey Syama has written – The thoughts of those who call 'Phoonk' as spitting of Dua are worth spitting. They cultivate poison and hatred.
Businessman and former vice-chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Zafar Sareshwala has written - "Some fanatics are not able to digest this beautiful sight of India's unity. Lata Mangeshkar Ji was the person who made people unity even when they lived." and continued to do so even after his death. Shahrukh Khan is also one in this episode."
Zafar Sareshwala wrote in another tweet- "This is not spitting, it is blowing. It is called blowing the prayer."
Arun Bothra, a senior IPS police officer of Odisha, wrote in a tweet about this - "It is a custom in Islam to blow after reciting prayers. Children are made to blow away in defeat and disease, this is usually known to everyone. Shahrukh Khan recited the prayer and completed the ritual by blowing. Those who raise stupid questions on such a sad occasion know the truth, but there is also a compulsion by habit.
what is blowing
This is a common custom among Muslims. Dua is recited by blowing on someone's death or any other occasion.
This dua is the verses of the Quran Sharif, the holy religious book of Muslims.
In the prayer recited on the death of someone, a prayer is sought for the peace of the soul of the departed.
Apart from this, dua is also read for one's long life, success in life, or for other things.
After reciting the dua, for whomever he prays, if he is nearby, then he blows it in front.
