A major update regarding the Battle of Galwan has emerged ahead of its release. Salman Khan has changed the film’s title.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film Battle of Galwan will now arrive in theaters under a new title. A major announcement was made on Monday through Salman Khan Films.
The New Title of the Battle of Galwan
On March 16, Salman Khan released a new poster for the film on his Instagram account. Along with this poster, the film’s new title was revealed. This title is linked to the film’s first song. In fact, the film is now titled Maatrubhumi.

The first song from Battle of Galwan was also released under this very name, and now, this has been adopted as the film’s official title. Accompanying the title is the tagline: Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace. Through this tagline, the film places a strong emphasis on peace.
What Is Salman Khan’s Film Based On?
Battle of Galwan—now known as Maatrubhumi—is based on the historic incident that took place in the Galwan Valley in 2020. The film depicts how unarmed soldiers confronted the Chinese military. Salman Khan plays the character of Colonel Santosh Babu. Chitrangada Singh also plays a pivotal role in the film.
When Will Maatrubhumi Be Released?
Initially, the release date for Maatrubhumi had been set for April 17. However, reports recently surfaced suggesting that the film’s release date has been postponed. Nevertheless, no official announcement regarding this has been made yet. The post announcing the title change also contains no information regarding the release date. Official confirmation is still awaited to determine whether or not the film will indeed be released on April 17.
