Srinagar, Feb 28 (IANS) Two militants of Hizbul Mujaheedin outfit were killed in a fierce gunfight overnight with security forces in south Kashmir Pulwama district, police Saturday said.
"Last night, on specific information troops of counter-insurgency Rashtriya Rifles (RR), paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police launched a search operation in village Rathsuna Tral in Pulwama district," a police spokesman said.
"During searches militants fired upon the joint search party triggering an encounter. Two militants were killed in the ensuing encounter. Two AK-47 rifles and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site," he said.
