Health facilities in Uttar Pradesh will get wings. A provision of Rs 50550.42 crore has been made for the health sector in the budget. A recruitment board will be formed for the appointment of specialist doctors in hospitals and medical teachers in government medical colleges. Every year 1500 additional MBBS and MD, MS, and 130 super specialist (DM- MCH) doctors will be prepared. Currently, 11800 MBBS, 3970 MD-MS, and 120 DM- MCH doctors are produced.
There are 80 medical colleges in the state, out of which 44 are run by the state government and 36 are in the private sector. Specialists appointed in various hospitals of the state after taking MD and MS degrees leave their posts midway due to some reason or the other. Their appointment is done by the Public Service Commission. It takes a lot of time. Similarly, a committee has been formed for the appointment of medical teachers in state autonomous medical colleges, but the appointment of government medical colleges is done by the commission. Now Uttar Pradesh Specialist and Medical Teacher Recruitment Board is being formed. A provision of Rs 3.34 crore has been made for this. This will make the process of appointment in government medical colleges and appointment of specialist doctors in hospitals easier.
Medical colleges will open in Balrampur and Ballia
A provision of Rs 27 crore has been made for the establishment of an autonomous state medical college in Ballia and Rs 25 crore for the establishment of an autonomous state medical college in Balrampur. A new college will be built in Ballia, while the satellite center of KGMU built in Balrampur has been given the status of a medical college. An incentive scheme has been started to promote private investment in the field of medical education. A provision of Rs 22.91 crore has been made for this.
Testing facilities will be better in hospitals.
A provision of Rs 25 crore has been made for pathology machines installed in the community health centers of the state. 30-bed hospitals will be run under a public-private partnership. A provision of Rs 15 crore has been made for this.
