Weather Update: Alert in 32 districts of UP, chances of rain in these states including Uttarakhand

Monsoon is kind in the northern states of the country. Rain alert has been issued in 32 districts of UP on Thursday. At the same time, apart from Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Jharkhand, some parts of Assam, Nagaland, and Sikkim may receive light to moderate rains.

 

According to private weather agency Skymet, light rain is possible at one or two places in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and West Rajasthan as well as Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat.

 

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the Ghat areas and coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. A heavy rain alert has been issued in South Interior Karnataka on the 4th and 5th of August. Heavy rain is expected in Tamil Nadu and Telangana in the next one or two days. Along with this, there may be heavy rain in Chhattisgarh and Odisha as well.

 

Yellow alert in these districts of Uttar Pradesh

 

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rainfall in 32 districts of UP. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, and their surrounding areas. The 32 districts with Yellow Alert are – Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Firozabad, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Sant. Kabir Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur City, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur.

On the other hand, the rivers are in spate due to the rain falling on the mountains. In Bijnor, Yamuna reached near the danger mark on Wednesday. On Wednesday, a car was washed away in the sudden water in the Kotawali river and traffic came to a standstill for eight hours. The dead body of a youth who drowned in the Yamuna has been found in Saharanpur. The Yamuna river also reached near the danger mark in Baghpat on Wednesday. Badaun residents Pramod Yadav, Sunil Kumar, and Rajiv Kumar were going to collect Gangajal from Haridwar. The three persons had gone for a short time by parking the car on the Kotawali river sliding. Suddenly the water level rose and the car was washed away in the strong current of water. All three escaped and saved their lives. On Wednesday, there was strong and light rain in Hamirpur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Etawah, Banda, Hardoi, Bahraich, Jhansi, Orai, and Bareilly.

 

Eight percent more rainfall than average in the country so far

 

The country has received eight percent more rainfall than the average so far. However, parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and North-East are deficient in rainfall. There was good rain across the country in July. The flood-like situation also prevailed in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Till the end of July, the country has recorded 8 percent more rainfall. Good rainfall is also expected in August.
