The weather in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and North Maharashtra including Delhi will remain dry. Rain will continue over South India including South Maharashtra.
Heavy rain warning in these states today
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, and Maharashtra on October 19, 2022. At the same time, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. IMD has issued yellow alerts in 7 states.
C-wave cyclone threat increased over Odisha
The threat of cyclones is looming over Odisha. Thailand has named it C-Tarang, which is moving rapidly towards Odisha. According to the Meteorological Department, at present, the cyclone is active in the North-Andaman Sea and its adjoining area, which will turn into deep pressure by Thursday. The C-wave will be centered over the southeast part of the east-central Bay of Bengal. Later it will move in the West-North-West direction.
It will intensify into a deep depression in the central Bay of Bengal on October 22. With this effect, the rain will start in Odisha on the morning of 22 October. During this time the wind speed will be 45 to 65 kmph.
Because of the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the Odisha government has become active. On Tuesday, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Special Relief Commissioner Satyawart Sahu, which DMs of seven districts attended. The officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that no harm is caused to the people. Leaves of government employees have been canceled.
