According to the Meteorological Department, at present, the line monsoon is passing through Raxaul in Bihar, Daltonganj in Jharkhand, Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, and Jalgaon in Maharashtra. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many states today. Heavy Rainfall Alert is expected in South Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala for the next 3 days. The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert in 8 states of the country on 17 October 2022.
According to Skymet Weather, due to the influence of cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, there may be heavy rains in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep. Rain is also possible in many parts of Maharashtra. Talks can start in the mountains on October 19. The weather in Delhi Punjab Haryana Uttar Pradesh Madhya Pradesh Bihar and Gujarat will remain dry.
According to the Meteorological Center Chandigarh, from October 18, the Western Disturbance is again active in Punjab. It is over the Himalayan region and there is a possibility of cloudy sky, thundershower, drizzle, or light rain in many districts of Punjab. This Western Disturbance is likely to remain active till October 20. Due to its effect, where there will be snowfall in the mountains, there is a possibility of increasing cold in the plains.
Weather will remain clear in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Due to sunshine in most areas, the temperature is expected to rise. These days the cold has increased in the state during the night while the heat is being felt during the day.
Heavy rain alerts in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on October 17, 2022, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with strong winds in some parts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andaman, and the Nicobar Islands. On the other hand, heavy to very heavy rains are likely over parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in these states.
Western Disturbance persisting in the Bay of Bengal
Meanwhile, a new cyclonic pressure center is forming in the lower troposphere over the Bay of Bengal. On the other hand, in the Arabian Sea, a new cyclonic pressure center is forming in the lower troposphere near Karnataka and the Konkan coast. Due to both these conditions, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain in many states of the country next week. Apart from this, a western disturbance is also forming.
