Wheat Exports: DGFT's instructions regarding export of wheat, said- physical verification of all documents should be done

The Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has taken a big decision on the rigging in the export of wheat. It has asked its regional authorities to physically verify all its documents before issuing the Certificate of Registration (RC) for exports.

This work has been done on the orders of the Ministry of Commerce. Now those sending wheat out of the country will also have to indicate the date of interaction with the foreign bank along with the letter of credit (LOC) dated May 13 or earlier. If any wrongdoing is found then it will be probed by CBI.

Export ban from May 13

The DGFT issued two notices on Monday and Tuesday. It said the government had imposed a ban on the export of wheat on May 13. But only those exporters who have obtained LOC before that will be able to export. According to the notice, fake RCs were received from some exporters, after which this decision has been taken.

Whether approved or in process, verification will be done

The DGFT said that whether the exporters have been approved or are in the approval process, in both cases the documents will be verified. If needed, the help of a professional agency will also be taken. The matter will also be investigated by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW), and if bankers are found wrong in this, action will also be taken against them.
