Once again the prices of edible oil may come down. The government has asked the companies to consider this regard. The Food Secretary held a meeting with the oil companies on Thursday. In this, it has been said to reduce the price by at least Rs 10 per liter. This will give relief to the people. However, recently the oil prices had come down by up to Rs 30 a liter. If the government is successful in reducing the price of edible oils again, then people will get benefit from it during the festive season also.
Prices above Rs 150
Edible oil prices are still above Rs 150. According to the consumer ministry, the price of groundnut oil is currently Rs 187.55 per liter. A month ago also it was Rs 187.88 a liter. Mustard oil is Rs 173.9 a liter as against Rs 178.32 a month ago. The price of vegetable oil is Rs 155.2. A month ago it was Rs 163.
Soya oil fell by Rs 10
The price of soya oil has declined by Rs 10 in a month. It has come down from Rs 165.5 to Rs 157.84 a liter. The price of sunflower oil has come down from Rs 186 to Rs 171 a liter during the same period. Currently, oil prices are low in foreign markets. In such a situation, there is a demand to reduce in India also.
