In 282 samples of corona patients from Mumbai, labs were sent for genome sequencing. Of these, 55% of the samples were from Omicron and 32% from Delta derivatives. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has given this information. BMC reported that out of 282 samples, 156 (55%) were found to be Omicron variant and 89 (32%) to delta derivative, and 37 (13%) to delta variant. This was the 7th batch sent for genome sequencing.
According to the BMC, a patient infected with Delta derivatives has died. The patient had taken only the first dose of the Covid vaccine. Out of 282 patients, only 17 were hospitalized. 9 patients admitted to the hospital were Omicron positive.
