695 Review: Film showing the 500 years of struggle for the construction of Ayodhya temple, read the review here before going to the theatre.

For the devotees of Sanatan Dharma and Lord Shri Ram, the grand event of Prabhu Shri Ram's Pran Pratistha in Ayodhya is no less than a big celebration. After a long struggle of 500 years, the construction work of the temple of Lord Shri Ram started. Although the film '695' depicts the 500-year struggle of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the story mainly revolves around the demolition of the structure on 6 December 1992, the court's decision on 9 November 2019, and the foundation stone of the temple on 5 August 2020. Swirls around. Hence the film has been titled '695'.

 

The story of the film takes place in the events of 1528 when the Mughals demolished the temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya and built the Babri Masjid. After that, the story starts in 1943, when Guru Raghavdas is worshiping Lord Shri Ram with his disciples. Some people of the Muslim community oppose the puja saying that the sound of conch shells and bells is hindering their worship. Guru Raghavdas along with his disciple Raghunandan meets the people of the Muslim community and discusses that a way should be found that will end the temple-mosque dispute forever, but the people of the Muslim community refuse this. In the year 1949, the idol of Lord Shri Ram automatically appeared in the mosque and the temple was locked calling it a disputed place, and the decision was left to the court.

 

Guru Raghavdas has only one dream that somehow the temple should be built, his disciple Raghunandan Das is of a bit aggressive nature. But Guru Raghavdas explains that if one path is closed, thousands of paths will open, but it will happen peacefully. Raghunandan Das promises his dying guru that he will devote his life to the construction of the temple. The events from the year 1949 till the court's decision on 9 November 2019 have been shown in this film. This film has been directed by Yogesh Bhardwaj and Rajneesh Berry. Before the interval, the story of the film keeps the audience engaged, but after the interval, the story of the film gets scattered a bit.

 

This film has three strong sides. The tremendous dialogues are written by Aadesh's Arjun, the performance of the film's actors, and the music of the film. All the incidents shown in this film are well-known to the general public. Arun Govil's performance in the role of Guru Raghav Das has been excellent. Especially when he sees in his dream that Lord Shri Ram has come to Ayodhya, that scene makes him emotional. Ashok Samarth leaves a good impression in the role of Raghunandan Das. If we look at it, Ashok Samarth is the link to the film. Manoj Joshi has given a tremendous performance in the five-minute role of a lawyer in the climax of the film. Dayashankar Pandey and Shailendra Srivastava in the role of Muslim youth and Mukesh Tiwari in the role of District Magistrate, even if their character is small, leave a different impact.

 

KK Raina has played the role of Lal Krishna Advani in the film. He has played this role with complete sincerity and he has completely adapted himself to this character. All the other actors who have been selected to play the roles of politicians are not as good as Raina. When Lal Krishna Advani's Rath Yatra begins, Narendra Modi's character is shown in the present day, although at that time he did not have a white beard. The characters of Atal Bihari Bajpayee, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Yadav, and Pramod Mahajan were not selected properly. Govind Namdev in the role of Shambhunath and Akhilendra Mishra in the role of Mahamandaleshwar were seen only overacting in the entire film. Seeing Akhilendra Mishra in this film, it seemed that he still has not been able to come out of the character of 'Chandrakanta'.

 

At this time, the way the whole country is immersed in the devotion of Lord Shri Ram, if this film had been promoted properly then the audience would have connected with this film. The production value of the film may be zero, but given the strong faith in Lord Ram in the country these days, if the film had been promoted properly, it would have benefited. The cinematography and editing of the film are normal. Most of the scenes in the film have been shot on Chroma and its technical prowess has resulted in the film losing its impact.
