What are you doing in Qatar?
All eight Indians worked for private company Dahara Global Technologies and Consultancy Services. Indian citizens had been training Qatar's marines for the last few years. This company was working in collaboration with Qatari authorities to provide training to the marines. The company is owned by Khamis Al-Ajmi, a retired squadron leader of the Royal Oman Air Force. Ajami was also arrested along with the Indians last year but was released in November 2022. In May, Dahra closed its operations in Doha and all the people working there (mainly Indians) returned home.
How long have you been in jail in Qatar?
The eight Indians who have been sentenced to death by the Qatar court have all been former officers of the Indian Navy. These officers have been in jail in Qatar since August last year. However, what his crime is, is not yet known. Because neither India nor Qatar authorities have made the allegations against him public.
