A powerful earthquake in Japan injured 33 people, and the Prime Minister has formed an emergency task force.

People are still reeling from the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan last night. A tsunami also hit Japan's coastal areas following the earthquake. This disaster has shaken the entire country. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has formed an emergency task force.

 

 

From collapsed roads to damaged buildings, shocking images are emerging from Japan. Thirty-three people have been reported injured due to the earthquake, one of whom is in serious condition. This information was provided by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

 

 

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, while speaking to the media, said that an emergency task force has been created. She emphasized that people's lives are paramount and that the government will do everything to save them. Security checks are being conducted at the region's nuclear power plants.

 

 

Tsunami Alert After the Earthquake

The earthquake, which struck around 11:15 PM on Monday night, had its epicenter off the coast of Honshu Island, causing tremors to be felt across much of Japan. The tremors were so strong that they generated waves in the ocean, and a tsunami warning was issued for Japan and other countries around the Pacific Ocean.

 

 

Where was the earthquake's epicenter?

The earthquake's epicenter was located 80 km off the coast of Aomori Prefecture and at a depth of 50 km. The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that a 40-centimeter tsunami hit Urakawa town in Hokkaido Prefecture and Mutsu Ogawara port in Aomori Prefecture. According to public broadcaster NHK, several people were injured at a hotel in Hachinohe city, Aomori.
