
Young Indian batter Tilak Varma achieved a major milestone in the third T20I match played in Dharamshala. The 23-year-old left-handed batter shattered a record held by the legendary Virat Kohli. Tilak Varma has become the batsman with the highest average against South Africa in T20 Internationals.
He surpassed Virat Kohli in terms of the highest average against any team. Batting at number 3, Tilak played an unbeaten innings of 25 runs off 35 balls in Dharamshala, which included three fours. With this innings, Tilak Varma achieved a significant milestone.

In fact, in the third T20 match against South Africa (IND vs SA), Tilak Varma batted sensibly and steadily. He supported vice-captain Shubman Gill and took the team a long way in the run chase. With his unbeaten innings of 25 runs, Tilak Varma's average against South Africa in T20Is reached 70.50, which is the highest for any Indian batter against any team in this format.
He also surpassed Virat Kohli, who has retired from the T20 format, in this regard. Kohli's average against Pakistan (with at least 300 runs) was 70.28. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma's average while chasing in T20Is is now 68. He has surpassed Kohli, whose average in this format was 67.1.
