New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) Delhi Police Chief B.S. Bassi Friday said adequate arrangements were being made for the US President Barack Obama's visit to India later this month.
"We will make all adequate arrangements, with our various units working together... police of the concerned districts will be there, along with contribution from other units like PCR, communication and traffic," Bassi told the media.
He added, the police would ensure that the people of Delhi are not inconvenienced due to the security arrangements.
Obama, who will be the chief guest at Republic Day Parade, is expected to arrive in the national capital Jan 25.
Earlier a team of US Secret Service held meeting with Indian security agencies at the ministry of external affairs here.
According to informed sources the US team wanted emergency exit routes and dummy routes for places Obama would be visiting.
Sources added that Obama was likely to be accompanied by wife, Michelle, and would be visiting Agra Jan 27.
The US team also wanted all restaurants and hotels, that fall on the route between Delhi and Agra, to be shut and completely sanitised a day before.
Keeping up with the security arrangements, section 144, which prevents unlawful assembly, has already been imposed in Lutyens Delhi - the VIP area around Rashtrapati Bhawan and Parliament House.
