New Delhi, March 19 (IANS) BJP veteran L.K. Advani will contest the Lok Sabha polls from Gandhinagar in Gujarat while prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will fight from a second seat from Vadodara in the same state, the party announced Wednesday.
Modi is also contesting from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
The decision was taken after a long meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party's central election committee, which was not attended by Advani.
Reports said Advani was keen on contesting from Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.
Olympian Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was given a ticket from Jaipur Rural while Bollywood actress Hema Malini will contest from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
Dushyant Singh, son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, will fight from Jhalawar in the state.
In Bihar, party leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey will fight from Buxar.
