Team India trampled England by 10 wickets in the first match of the 3 ODI series. This is the first time in 48 years that India has defeated England by 10 wickets. India played an ODI for the first time in 1974 against the British.

India elected to bowl first after winning the toss and restricted England to 110 in 25.2 overs thanks to a career-best performance by Jasprit Bumrah (19/6). This is England's lowest score against India so far. Bumrah also became the best Indian bowler to bowl in an ODI against England. He broke Ashish Nehra's 19-year-old record. In the 2003 World Cup, Nehra took 6/23 against England.

In reply, India won the match by scoring 114 runs in 18.4 overs. Rohit Sharma scored the highest unbeaten 76 in 58 balls. Shikhar Dhawan scored 31 runs in 54 balls. Rohit hit 7 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. His strike rate was 131.

For the second time all 10 wickets in the name of fast bowlers

Fast bowlers took all 10 wickets for India. This happened only for the second time for Team India in ODI cricket when all the 10 wickets were got by the fast bowlers. Earlier this happened in Mirpur ODI against Bangladesh in 2014. Then Stuart Binny took 6 and Mohit Sharma took 4 wickets.

After 18 years, the opposition took five wickets in 10 overs.

Apart from Bumrah for India, Mohammed Shami also bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets. India had dropped England's 5 wickets in 10 overs. Team India's bowlers have done this feat for the first time after 2004. Earlier, against UAE in Dambulla, India took 5 wickets in 10 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah gave the initial setbacks to England. In his very first over, he sent two England batsmen to the pavilion. First Jasprit bowled Jason Roy. After that came to bat at number-3, which made Root his victim. He could not even open his account and got caught by Rishabh Pant. After the dismissal of both, Ben Stokes came on the field, but Mohammed Shami sent him to the pavilion as well. Stokes also could not open his account.

After the dismissal of three players, it seemed that Jonny Bairstow would take over England's innings. He also played 20 balls, but he too could not do much in front of Bumrah and got caught by Pant. Bairstow returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs. Jasprit had landed in a different mood in today's match. He also bowled Liam Livingston for 0 runs.

After the fall of 5 wickets, the England team was on the mend when the famous Krishna dismissed Moeen Ali for 14 runs. At the same time, Jos Buttler, who scored 30 runs in 32 balls, was caught on the boundary by Mohammed Shami. Craig Overton became the victim of Mohammed Shami after scoring 8 runs. Bumrah completed his fifth wicket by bowling Briden Cars. For the 9th wicket, Kars shared a 41-ball 35-run partnership with Willie.
