Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to intensify the attacks after several missile attacks on Ukraine. Let us tell you that these attacks came at a time when a bridge connecting Russia with the Crimean peninsula was blown up on Saturday. Three people died in the attack and the bridge partially collapsed. Putin has told the hand of the Ukrainian army behind this attack. Not only this, Vladimir Putin has called the attack on the Kerch Bridge a 'terrorist act' by the Special Services of Ukraine. Putin said that in response to this attack, more attacks have been carried out on Ukraine.

Putin commented on television at his Security Council meeting on Monday that Russia's attack on Ukraine was in retaliation for its terrorist acts. "If attempts to commit terrorist acts in our region continue, Russia's response will be even more severe. No one should have any doubts," he said. Putin confirmed that Monday's "massive attacks" on Ukraine by Russian forces were targeting energy and communications infrastructure as well as military command installations.

After months of relative calm, missile strikes hit several cities on Monday, including the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. Ukraine's Interior Ministry adviser Rostislav Smirnov said at least eight people were killed and 24 others were injured in the attack in Kyiv. Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said on his Telegram account, "Russia is trying to destroy us and wipe us off the earth," urging Ukrainians to stand firm.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko informed us about the explosion in Shevchenko in the heart of Kyiv. There are many government offices in this area. Ukraine's Member of Parliament Lesia Vasilenko tweeted a photo of the explosion near the main building of the Kyiv National University in central Kyiv. Kyiv emergency services spokeswoman Svitlana Vodolaga told The Associated Press (AP) that there were casualties and rescuers were working at various sites.

Zelensky in the shelter of the G7

Zelensky has taken refuge in the G-7 after the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine. The G-7 is currently headed by Germany. According to media reports, Germany has said that the G-7 will hold a video conference on Tuesday on the situation in Ukraine, which will also be attended by Zelensky. Before going to the G-7, Zelensky said that Russia wants to wipe Ukraine from the earth. He urged his people to stay in bomb shelters. He said Russia has warned of air strikes in every region of the country except Crimea. Zelensky also confirmed that he spoke with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who heads the G7. The Ukrainian leader also spoke on the phone with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss Ukraine's air defense.

Why is Putin furious over the attack on the Crimea Bridge?

Russia's National Counter-Terrorism Committee said seven bogies of a fuel-carrying train were set on fire after a truck bomb exploded, resulting in the "partial collapse of two sections of the bridge." Putin is furious after this attack. This 19-kilometer (12-mile) bridge was opened in the year 2018 across the Kerch Strait connecting the Black Sea and the Azov Sea. It is the longest bridge in Europe.

It cost $3.6 billion to build. Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 in violation of international law and then built this bridge. The Crimean peninsula holds symbolic significance for Russia and is important for its military operations in the south. If the bridge is closed, it will make it more difficult to transport goods to Crimea. Russia's energy ministry said Crimea has enough fuel for 15 days. He said the ministry is working on ways to replenish the stock.
