What did the government say in the order?
The gazette issued by the central government stated that LPG is an essential fuel used for cooking in Indian homes, and ensuring its consistent availability is essential. Therefore, refineries and petrochemical plants will no longer be able to use the gas for petrochemical products or other industrial purposes. This simply means that the gases will be used directly to make LPG, so that there is no shortage of cooking gas in homes.
