They will have to prepare their IT infrastructure according to the standards and guidelines of the Ministry. For the last eight days, organizations like the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Delhi Police, and Security Research and Development Organization (DRDO) working under the Ministry of IT are investigating the cyber attack on AIIMS. According to Ministry sources, after the passage of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Bill, incidents like ransomware in AIIMS may become huge. Whose data is with that organization, the consumer can go to the Data Security Board against them and the organization can also be fined up to Rs 500 crore for this negligence.

However, ministry sources say that the cyber attackers could not get hold of AIIMS data as it was encrypted. But in the future, an incident like AIIMS may lead to action regarding the violation of data security. In case of emergency only, government organizations are exempted from the approval of customers. Approval has to be taken Only in special circumstances like a disaster, or security-law, the government will be able to use the personal data of a person without his approval.
