Worldwide concern about the increasing case of Coronavirus, do you know why the infection spread rapidly in China?

Last month, China removed all the stringent restrictions imposed in the country regarding the coronavirus. After which the number of infected started skyrocketing there. Lakhs of cases started coming daily, there was no place for patients in the hospitals, and there was also a shortage of medicines. After seeing the condition of China, other countries are also worried that a situation like China should not arise in their country. For this, all the countries have made proper arrangements and started implementing the guidelines.

Let us know why the corona case increased in China

* China admitted that the compulsory mass test regarding Corona was stopped in the country last month. The case has since become impossible to track.

* The National Health Commission has stopped publishing daily nationwide infection and death figures. This responsibility has been given to the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which will publish the data only once a month after the new rule imposed by China on 8 January.

* China started easing restrictions on 7 December. Since then only 15 Covid deaths have been reported. Shortly thereafter, it also tightened the criteria by which deaths from the virus are recorded.

* Concerns have been raised due to a lack of accurate data as the exact number of infections is not known in the official data. At the same time, officials last week admitted that the scale of the data collected is "much smaller" than that of the mandatory mass PCR test.

* CDC official Yin Wenwu said he is now compiling data from hospitals and local government surveys, as well as emergency call volumes and sales of fever medicine, that will fill gaps in reporting.

* Chinese hospitals and crematoriums are troubled by the influx of patients and dead bodies. Rural areas are also facing particularly great difficulties at this time.

* Several countries, including the US, Australia, and Canada, said last week they were imposing testing restrictions on people arriving from China because of a lack of transparency on infection data.

* Last month, some local and regional authorities began sharing estimated daily infection data because the government figure was unclear. Health officials in Zhejiang believed that one million residents were being infected every day last week. At the same time, he also told that in cities like Quzhou and Zhousan, at least 30 percent of the population got infected by the virus.

* In Qingdao too, 5 lakh new cases have been estimated almost daily. Apart from this, up to 3 lakh infections have been detected in Dongguan. On the other hand, officials of the island province of Hainan said on Friday that the infection rate there has crossed 50 percent.

* Shanghai's top infectious disease expert, Zhang Wenhong, said the city could enter its peak from December 22 as an estimated 10 million residents are vulnerable to Covid.

* Leaked notes from a meeting of health officials last month revealed that 250 million people across China had been infected in the first 20 days of December.

* Apart from this, researchers from the University of Hong Kong have estimated that about one million Chinese may die this winter due to corona.

* Several countries have raised concerns over possible new variants due to screening of Chinese arrivals for Covid, but there is no evidence yet of new strains emerging from the current wave.

* Top CDC official Xu Wenbo said last month that China is developing a national genetic database of Covid samples obtained from hospitals that will help track mutations.

* Chinese health experts have reported that the Omicron subvariants BA5.2 and BF7 are most prevalent in Beijing. Omicron remains a major tension in Shanghai as well. The government reported only 384 Omicron cases in the past month to the global online database GISAID.
