New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) In a bid to bridge the gap between practical and theoretical aspects of cardiovascular sciences, AIIMS in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University here will launch a lab journal, it was announced Friday.
The journal named 'Practice of Cardiovascular Sciences' will also focus on improving the teaching methods and clinical implementation of the subject in every medical colleges in India.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will collaborate with JNU's School of Life Sciences.
"This is going to be a great solution for the gap that has prevailed till now in terms of cardiovascular sciences and its implementation. It will encourage close links between clinicians and basic scientists," AIIMS cardiology professor Sandeep Seth said at a pre-launch conference.
According to surveys by health organisations, over 30 percent of patients suffering from cardiac diseases die due to wrong treatment.
S.K. Goswami, professor of life sciences at JNU, said the journal would also encourage students to further research on the subject and come up with innovations.
