Air India's Ahmedabad-London flight has been cancelled due to technical fault. This is the same route on which AI-171 crashed. According to the information, Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft AI-159 was to depart from Ahmedabad at 1.10 pm. Its arrival time in London was told to be 6.25 pm. In the last two days, technical problems were seen in three Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. First Air India AI315 (Hong Kong to Delhi) returned mid-flight due to a suspected technical fault. After this, the flight coming from San Francisco to Mumbai had to stop in Kolkata and the Ahmedabad-London flight had to be cancelled.
Earlier, an engine of an Air India flight going from San Francisco to Mumbai had a technical fault on Tuesday. Due to this, the passengers had to be disembarked during the scheduled stop of the aircraft at Kolkata airport. Dreamliner aircraft AI180 arrived at the airport on time (12.45 pm), but the flight was delayed due to a technical fault in the left engine. At around 5.20 am, all the passengers were asked to disembark from the plane. The captain of the plane told the passengers that this decision was taken for flight safety.
The atmosphere of fear after the Ahmedabad accident
The flight service had to be canceled at a time when five days ago, Air India flight AI-171, which took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport in Ahmedabad to Gatwick Airport in London, crashed into the hostel building of BJ Medical College just seconds after takeoff. There were 242 people on board the crashed Air India plane, including 230 passengers, 10 cabin crew members and two pilots. Everyone except British citizen Vishwas Kumar Ramesh died.
Air India Dreamliner coming to Delhi had developed a problem.
Earlier yesterday, Air India flight AI315 going from Hong Kong to Delhi had to return to its original place after technical problems were suspected in the middle of the flight. This flight AI315 operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner had left for Delhi from Hong Kong. Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft is being used by Air India in India.
Flight coming from London to Chennai also had a problem on Sunday.
On Sunday also, British Airways flight BA35, which left for Chennai (India) from London's Heathrow Airport, experienced a technical problem just minutes after takeoff. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner took off at 1:16 pm (British time) with a delay of 36 minutes, but at an altitude of about 15,000 feet, the pilots found signs of a problem in the flap system. As per the safety protocol, the plane flew several times in a holding pattern over the Bay of Dover. During this time, the plane remained at 12,000 feet for about 30 minutes, and for a safe landing, additional fuel was dropped in the air to reduce weight. After a total of about one hour and 45 minutes, the plane landed safely on the runway at Heathrow. All passengers and crew were safely evacuated.
