The problems of Air India, which is facing its biggest crisis due to the Ahmedabad plane crash, are not reducing. Seven international flights had to be cancelled on Tuesday due to various reasons.
Apart from this, due to a problem in the San Francisco-Mumbai flight, the passengers had to disembark midway i.e. in Kolkata. Passengers were worried due to the cancellation of flights.
Orders were given to investigate the Dreamliner aircraft.
Air India, which was bought by the Tata Group three years ago, said that due to the strict investigation of the Dreamliner fleet by aviation regulator DGCA, Air India cancelled six international flights, while the Ahmedabad-London Gatwick flight was cancelled due to the non-availability of aircraft. Let us tell you that Air India operates B787-8 Boeing Dreamliner for the UK and Europe.
Many Boeing Dreamliner aircraft were cancelled.
The aircraft of most of the Air India flights cancelled on Tuesday are Boeing Dreamliner. This crisis has come before Air India at a time when investigation teams are trying to find out what was the reason for the accident of Air India's Boeing Dreamliner aircraft AI 171 going from Ahmedabad to London on June 12? In this accident, 275 people including 241 passengers out of 242 on board the plane lost their lives.
The Delhi-Paris flight was canceled after some problems were detected during the pre-flight check. Other flights canceled during the day include Bengaluru-London, London-Amritsar, Delhi-Vienna, Delhi-Dubai, and San Francisco-Mumbai. Earlier in the day, in a statement, Air India said that Delhi-Paris flight AI 143 had been canceled because a problem was found in the mandatory pre-flight check, which is being fixed.
However, Air India did not give details about the problem found during the pre-flight check. Air India said, "However, the flight has been cancelled given the flight falls under the ban on night operations at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. On the other hand, the airline announced to start of the Ahmedabad-London flight that crashed on June 12 with a new code AI 159 instead of AI 171, but this flight had to be cancelled on Tuesday due to the unavailability of the aircraft.
The airline rejected the claims that the flight was cancelled due to a technical fault. The aircraft was to depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 3 pm. Air India terminated its San Francisco-Mumbai flight at a scheduled stop in Kolkata due to a technical fault in one of its engines.
The aircraft Boeing 777-200 LR reached Kolkata airport at 1:45 am on Monday-Tuesday night. The onward flight was cancelled after a technical fault developed in its left engine and all 211 passengers on board were later shifted to Mumbai by another flight. The airline usually flies directly from San Francisco to Mumbai but geopolitical events, including the closure of Pakistani and Iranian airspace, forced Air India to change its route and make a technical halt in Kolkata.
The airline said it is providing hotel accommodation and is also offering cancellation or full refund if passengers opt for it. Alternate arrangements are being made to ensure that passengers reach their destinations as soon as possible.
These international flights were cancelled
Ahmedabad-London
Delhi-Vienna
London-Amritsar
