Underlining the weakening of the ecosystem of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir due to the efforts of the Modi government, Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has asked to deal with the terrorist funding from drug smuggling promptly and strictly. Addressing a high-level meeting convened to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah made it clear that our goal is to root out the existence of terrorists.
Who all attended the meeting
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and Director General of Police, including senior officials of the Home Ministry and Jammu and Kashmir administration were present in the meeting. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also attended the review meeting held a day earlier.
Instructions given to officials
According to official sources of the Home Ministry, the officials of Jammu and Kashmir gave a detailed presentation on the situation of terrorism and its ecosystem in the state. Along with this, information was given on the situation of infiltration from the international border and the Line of Control. Amit Shah directed all security agencies to take forward the fight against terrorism with the aim of zero infiltration.
Action will be taken promptly.
Shah made it clear that agencies should take strict action against infiltration and terrorism without any delay. Amit Shah said that narco networks are also helping in the smuggling of drugs in Jammu and Kashmir and in carrying out terrorist activities. Prompt action will have to be taken to stop terror funding from the money obtained from drug smuggling.
Zero tolerance against terrorism
He made it clear that the Modi government is committed to the complete elimination of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir with a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism. He asked all agencies to work with better coordination for this. Shah said that there has been significant improvement in Jammu and Kashmir on all parameters of security and praised the efforts of security agencies for that.
