Amit Shah will present Delhi Municipal Corporation amended bill in Lok Sabha today, Modi cabinet has approved

Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce the Delhi Municipal Corporation Amendment Bill 2022 in the Lok Sabha today. On this Tuesday, the Modi cabinet had put its stamp on the integration of the three municipal corporations of Delhi. Yesterday i.e. on Thursday, BJP had also issued a whip to all its MPs to be present in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha.

 

Municipal Corporation pieces were done in 2011

 

It is worth noting that in the year 2011, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was divided into three pieces. The municipal corporation was divided into three municipal corporations, including the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).

 

the election date has been postponed

 

It is worth noting that the date of the election of the Delhi Municipal Corporation was to be announced this month. The State Election Commission also held a press conference on March 9. In this PC, the Election Commission had said that the Lieutenant Governor has sent a letter informing him of the intention of the Central Government for the integration of the three municipal corporations. Because of this, the Commission had postponed the announcement of the date of the corporation elections. The commission says that the municipal elections should be held before May 18. For this, notification will have to be issued by April 18.

 

The three mayors had sent the proposal to the Center

 

Let us inform you that all the three mayors of the Municipal Corporation have proposed its integration. Raja Iqbal Singh, Mayor of Northern Corporation, Mukesh Suryan of South, and Shyam Sundar Agrawal of East had sent a proposal to the Central Government. The three mayors had said in this resolution that due to the poor financial condition of the corporations, there is a delay in getting the salaries of the employees, and development works are being affected, so there is a need to unite them.

 

The second phase of the budget session will run till April 8

 

Let us inform you that the second phase of the budget session of Parliament began on March 14. The second phase will continue till April 8. The budget session began on January 31 and went on till February 11.
