According to PTI, the officer said that the NIA had summoned Mumbai Police Inspector Sunil Mane for questioning on Thursday due to his suspected role in the Ambani case and Mansukh Hiren murder case. He was arrested after questioning.
The official said that Sunil would be produced in the court later this afternoon and the NIA would seek custody. Earlier this central agency has arrested four people, including two Mumbai Police officers Sachin Vazhe and Riyaz Kazi.
Recently, a Mumbai court sent police officer Riyaz Kazi to judicial custody till April 23 in connection with the finding of an SUV with explosive material outside the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani and the subsequent death of Thane businessman Mansukh Hiran. On April 11, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Qazi, an associate of suspended police officer Sachin Waje.
The carcass of the deer was found in Thane on March 5 after the SUV was found outside Ambani's house. The material used to make explosives was recovered from this SUV.
