Earlier on Thursday, Army Chief General MM Narwane had said that the Indian Army would stand firm against any attempt to 'unilaterally change the status quo' on the borders and that its willingness for peace should not be seen as a weakness needed. He also said that the army has been able to provide a quick and decisive response to the enemies' plot and at the same time it has also prevented the escalation of the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
Referring to cross-border terrorism from Pakistan, the army chief said that the army would not hesitate to attack the source of terrorism itself to protect India's interests.
