In the wake of the ongoing border dispute with China over LAC in East Ladakh, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane gave a strong message to the dragon saying that we are committed to resolve the problem through dialogue and political measures and have someone test our moderation Should not try. Let me tell you that the deadlock between India and China over the border dispute in East Ladakh has been going on for the last eight months and even after several rounds of talks, this tension has not subsided.
During his address at the parade ground in Delhi Cantt, Army Chief Narwane said that India has given a befitting reply to Chinese efforts to unilaterally change the status quo along the Line of Actual Control. He said that I want to assure the people of India that the sacrifice of our soldiers in Galvan Valley will not go in vain.
The army chief said that the morale of the soldiers deployed in the forward areas in the Ladakh sector is higher than the mountains they are protecting. On the situation of the Line of Control with Pakistan, the army chief said that 300 to 400 terrorists are present in camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and are in the position of entering India.
Earlier on Thursday, Army Chief General MM Narwane had said that the Indian Army would stand firm against any attempt to 'unilaterally change the status quo' on the borders and that its willingness for peace should not be seen as a weakness needed. He also said that the army has been able to provide a quick and decisive response to the enemies' plot and at the same time it has also prevented the escalation of the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
Referring to cross-border terrorism from Pakistan, the army chief said that the army would not hesitate to attack the source of terrorism itself to protect India's interests. General Narwane said that he was confident that the military character of the army, based on secular fabric, strong discipline, and efficient professional style, would continue to give strength to the force in fulfilling the aspirations of a rising India.
