Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a tour of Arunachal Pradesh on Monday. During this, he will participate in many programs, as well as interact with ITBP jawans in Kibithu. Amit Shah will launch the 'Vibrant Villages Program' (VVP) at Kibithu, a border village in Arunachal Pradesh.
Explain that the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the VVP with a central component of Rs 4,800 crore, including Rs 2,500 crore specifically for road connectivity, for the financial years 2022-23 to 2025-26. VVP is a centrally sponsored scheme, under which 2,967 villages in 46 blocks of 19 districts along the northern border in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Ladakh have been identified for comprehensive development.
In the first phase, 662 villages have been identified for priority coverage, which includes 455 villages in Arunachal Pradesh. The VVP will help in improving the quality of life of the people living in the identified border villages and encourage them to stay in their native places thereby preventing migration from these villages and enhancing the security of the border.
The district administration will prepare an action plan for the identified village with the help of appropriate mechanisms at the block and panchayat levels to ensure 100 percent saturation of central and state schemes. The focus areas of interventions identified for the development of villages include road connectivity, drinking water, electricity including solar and wind energy, mobile and internet connectivity, tourism centers, multi-purpose centers, and health care infrastructure and wellness centers.
Shah will inaugurate micro hydro projects
Home Minister Amit Shah will also inaugurate nine micro hydroelectric projects of the Arunachal Pradesh government built under the "Golden Jubilee Border Lighting Programme" at Kibithu. These power projects will empower people living in border villages. Shah will also inaugurate Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) projects to enhance infrastructure at Likabali (Arunachal Pradesh), Chhapra (Bihar), Nooranad (Kerala), and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
An exhibition of products made by women members of self-help groups of border districts will also be organized in the program. Amit Shah will visit the exhibition stalls to know himself and appreciate the efforts of the women of the border villages. After this, on April 11, the Home Minister will go to Namti Maidan and pay homage at the Walong War Memorial.
