Concerns are growing over the safety of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Another Hindu youth has been murdered in Bangladesh. Samir Das (28) was beaten to death in Daganbhuiyan, Feni. The perpetrators looted his auto-rickshaw and fled. Police are searching for the killers. This is the eighth incident of a Hindu being murdered in Bangladesh in the last 25 days.
According to the police, Samir was a resident of Ramanandpur village in the Matubhuiya Union of Daganbhuiyan and had been supporting his family for a long time by driving a battery-operated auto-rickshaw. His family members said that when Samir did not return home on time on Sunday night, they started searching for him. They later informed the police. Around 2 AM, people found Samir's bloodied body near Dakshin Karimpur Muhuri Bari.
Premeditated Murder
Police said the murder was premeditated. Officer-in-Charge Fayazul Azim Noman said that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered based on the family's complaint, and efforts are underway to identify the culprits.

Increasing Cases of Violence Against the Hindu Community
Police say that the disappearance of the auto-rickshaw suggests the murder was committed with the intention of robbery. However, other motives have not been ruled out.
