The ban has been imposed on them after making a controversial statement on the violence in Sitalakuchi in Cooch Behar during the fourth phase of polling. At the same time, the Election Commission has issued a notice to BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari on a speech given to BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari on March 29 for violating the model code of conduct.

At the same time, a new controversy arose with the statement of West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh on Sunday. In an election rally, he had said that if someone tried to take the law like the naughty boys killed in Sitalkuchi, the killings like Cooch Behar could also happen in the next phase of elections. The Trinamool Congress had strongly objected to this and demanded their arrest. At the same time, the CPI (M) said that this statement exposes the fascist face of the saffron party.
